As a fashion buyer living in New York, my days can be long and exhausting. But everything shifts the moment I open the door and see Laolao, my British Shorthair, sitting quietly and waiting. His presence is soothing.

When I settle in to watch TV, he curls up on my lap, silent and steady. His calm presence has become a big part of my life.
